WITH US Brand Standardization

WITH US Center for Bystander Intervention is a national, multi-issue bystander intervention research center committed to the safety and success of college students. I developed a number of branded material during my one-year employment at WITH US, including a brand guide, informational one-sheets, standardized social media posts, and worked with data and infographic tools to design the annual National College Student Bystander Intervention Study.

Developing the Brand Guide

WITH US tasked me with developing a visually pleasing and user-friendly brand guide to be referenced internally and by partnering colleges.

The organization has a cohesive brand image, showcasing cyan and navy blue colors paired with Filson as their primary typeface. The Brand Assets document provided to me to ensure correct color and typeface choices throughout the brand guide development and future branded content.

To incorporate the brand colors and create visual cohesion, I applied gradient maps on Photoshop to attribution-free images. Paragraph styles, guides, and parent pages were applied to assist with page standardization as I filled content within InDesign.

The final brand guide is pictured below. It includes 21 pages that dictate appropriate logo, color, and font usage (all compiled in Dropbox as accessible ZIP files). Upon completion, the InDesign document was packaged in case of future revisions and output as a PDF for reference.

Informational One-Sheets

These informational one-sheets were designed to present significant amounts of text in an easy-to-digest document. They are intended for print output and were subsequently used during student and partner outreach events.

I built the documents on Adobe InDesign, incorporating a grid, universal paragraph styles, and consistent image formatting to ensure cohesion across the three documents.

I was tasked with tailoring the content of each document, ensuring visual cohesion while appropriately differentiating each through use of color. Images used were attribution-free and reflected a healthy college environment.

Each document includes unique infographics which I built directly in the InDesign document. These include numbered lists, tables, and timelines. Upon completion, these documents were packaged in case of future revision and output as print-ready PDFs.

Social Media Post Templates

WITH US struggled to access student audiences, especially through its student-focused social media account. I proposed standardized social media templates to better maintain the organization’s brand image and streamline the content creation process for our staff.

These social media templates were created on Canva to be easily accessed, duplicated, and manipulated by the staff. View the full template deck below.

NCSBIS Report Redesign

The National College Student Bystander Intervention Survey is a survey-based study that offers partnering colleges a campus-wide assessment of student’s bystander experiences, behaviors, and more.

I was tasked with redesigning this report to better incorporate brand assets, refine infographic presentations, and package the InDesign document for replication for future reports. Pictured is a short sample of the 25-page document.

Project Reflection

Working closely with the research center was my first introduction to data visualization using Excel and Powerpoint. The report was eventually sent out to roughly two dozen campuses nationwide and was an incredibly rewarding experience.

My year at WITH US served as valuable client experience in which brand assets are established and applied to develop a wide range of content. I gained familiarity working as an independent designer for most of the featured projects without support from a team.
